An appeal to God for help in times of crisis is right and proper. The Bible is filled with examples of this kind of prayer. However, we have to keep in mind that this is not to be the prevalent form of prayer, nor is it of the highest kind. Prayer should not be dependent on a crisis.

When I talk about prayer, I am not talking about some ritual that one performs, like a religious ceremony. No, that is not prayer. Prayer is when you offer those things that you want to be resolved in your life and that they are heartfelt needs. People offer prayer all the time. Yet, most prayer is made through rituals and the bible verses. But that is not true prayer.

Prayer is a unifying feeling of communication to the universe for some purpose. These are the prayers that well up inside you. They are emotionally charged. Those prayers, that deep desire to ask for help from the universe or God are electric.

Prayer truly has power. It is a power charged with emotion. The feeling that there is a deserving attitude, yet selfishness must not be part of it. You ask for that which will address the particular issue that you are in crisis about. If it is finance, ask for relief and release from that issue, state the issue and what the ideal would be. Come to prayer is all about confidence, ask what you will but do not demand in the sense that the universe must respond.
